Have no fear – they still pack as much punch as ever and the knob-twiddler is Justin Adams, Robert Plant's guitarist-of-choice and the chap who crafted together their debut, The Radio Tisdas Sessions. Adams simply allows Tinariwen to be Tinariwen.
'Aman Iman' finds the band just as raw and mesmerising as ever – the wiry guitars snaking and weaving, drifting bluesily across the landscape like nomadic creatures, but also more than capable at picking up the tempo to transform the band into enthralling rock'n'rollers. Every inch as captivating as the band's previous offerings, Aman Iman's crowning glory has to be the revisiting of their greatest moment, the irresistible slinky Matadjem Yinmixan. Stunning.
